After breakfast the four of us because the mountain trip seems called off - bad weather - Overcast cloudy and damp and rainy.  We wandered again.  Charming chalets, quaint streets, interesting people.  riders, horse and carriage  - little school girl - walked too far.  Got into a little town called Menton.  Charming - alps always in view but clouds nestled on top.  Finally found way back to the hotel and had lunch and wrote cards till 3:00 pm when we left on bus for Lucerne.  More luscious panorama and high mountain passes.  Road again breathtaking with alps all around.  Beautiful lake called Briens and across the Brunig Pass.  Want to remember the rest stop.  Onto western shore, Lucerne weather cold.  Room so so, not bad, not best.  To me it was rather uncomfortable and of course no bath for the nights, which is alright as then Paris should have.  Rested a bit then supper, not so good at Kulping , but fair.  We are supposed to go right to Stradtkellar for fondue wine and swiss music its 2.00$ per but when we get there phooey!  All set up for crazy groups and I am squished in front of men's washrooms.  The four of us rebel and walk out on them.  Ted grabs me and wants us to stay, then say or else we get our money back.  We go and ask a local Swiss man where to go for fondue and music and he tells us to try Flora Gartdens which we do.  Get there around 9:00 and entertainment is going on waiter say fondue is at 10:00 pm.  We have a bottle of wine.  We just have a wonderful time.  We hear pop music, comedy, dancing, acrobats, and Alfredo the star is delightful.  We have our Swiss fondue as our wine was gone, We have beer. I laugh so hard the tears roll down my face.  Afterwards Alfredo and the waiter sit down with us and have some beer.  We have a delightful conversation.  Close up the place.  Don't get home until 1:00 am .  Crawl in bed.  Earlier we walked the covered bridge.
