July 27th 1943

Dear Shirl,

Nothing much doing at this end.  I'm just writing (again).  I passed all the exams and was accepted.  Just a matter of time.  

     I applied for a pass next Monday.   I'll call you at work if i make it O.K. Maybe we can match for a malted or something.  

     Just stalling around trying to keep busy till I ship.  Very dull.
