My Darling,

Me and the Army are going around together again.  It's a horrible combination!  We have so little in common.  Sunday is a pretty dead day around here so there isn't any news about what's to be done with us or when.  We should be completely enlightened sometime tomorrow.  From here on it doesn't make much difference what the procedure is.  I just want to get the damned thing over with.

The train ride wasn't so bad.  There was a lot of liquor flowing and I caused a slight Eddy current.  That sort of wound up the fling.

It's not so bad being back - except for missing you.  I'd miss you in Chicago if I wasn't with you so it's just a matter of 2000 miles.  I need you, Sweetheart.

It's nice and warm here now.  The sun is shinning and everything is peaceful.  Even the flight line is quiet.  This would be an ideal spot if only you were here.  Any place would be.

I spent most of the day getting my stuff straightened up.  Everything is in order now and I don't know what to do.  I feel like taking a long walk.   I can think of the wonderful time I had and how swell you were.  I guess everyone treated me fine and I'm a pretty lucky fellow.

I still don't know what my current address is but use the old one.  It'll get to me O.K.   Write right away will you?

Thank your Mom again for me.  She's swell.  How does it feel to be a lady of leisure?  I'll bet you don't really like it.

I'll know more about my future in the next letter.  I'm going to sign off now because I'm getting sort of moody.  You know what that means.

  Good Night Darling

I love you

Ray
