Darling,

Some scoundrel borrowed my pen last night and I haven't seen him since.  Pardon the pencil, I'm trying to get this mailed in time.

So far everything is running along swell.  I passed my flight check and first comprehensive so I'm safe.  By the way Sweetheart, I sort of made 2nd LT.  Ain't that some stuff?  I thought for sure I'd make f/o but I guess I was lucky.  Lt R. J. Konen - sounds pretty.  I take the oath at 10:00 Sat. and we should clear the field by 5:00.

I think the train pulls in at the Union Depot but I'm not sure.  You can check on it.  It leaves Tulsa at 8:40 Christmas morning and arrives at 9:30 Xmas night.

I wrote and told Myles what the setup was.  If he decides to tell Mom it's O.K. by me.  I hope he doesn't though because I'm still not sure of getting a leave.

I haven't gotten your letter yet so I'm figuring everything is still the same.  I've calmed down quite a bit but every once in awhile I do a handspring.

Gee Darling, this sure is going to be a wonderful Christmas.

I hope you're all better now.  Don't get sick.  Wear your long woolens and rubbers.  Tell your Mom to make you wear an onion poultice or mustard plaster.  Dig out your snowsuit.  Just don't get sick.  Of course if its your appendix again I have absolutely nothing to say.  The Colonel and I had quite a talk.  Gee!  I'll call or wire you if anything goes wrong.

So Long Darling

Ray
