This fall I am designing with a fun pattern created in Photoshop called witches hats and brooms. The graphic is tessellated. The shapes are drawn with the lasso and pen tool and then flood filled. the background is on a separate layer. To tesselate you design within a diamond inside a square canvas. You isolate that layer and duplicate it. Then you apply offset with x and y equaling half the pixels of the square canvas you are designing in. Repeat this process for the background layer.
