Fall, That Lusty Month of October: and what I'm working on
Share
Well its october and 80 degrees. The leaves are not promising a good show this year. What does a POD woman o' the world do with her meager camera apparatus. Well. let me tell you I can not wait to get my hands on the new camera on the iPhone 15. I need some sales to get it. I can upgrade anytime. I am being reasonable. waiting for sales. So I carry over 400 phone cases from Pixels. I've sold 4 of them. I want one. I can barely afford food and it's my birthday this month...but I bought another digital movie. That was my spending money for the month. Wanna know what movie? Arsenic and Old Lace with Carry Grant. Peter Lori is so funny in it. My favorite scene is when the taxi driver who has been waiting for the groom and Cary Grant comes back and says its wonderful, he's not related to the evil old women who buried twelve bodies in the basement by stating "I'm a son of a sea cook". Then the cab driver makes like a teapot (like when you play the song game Im a little tea pot short and stout here is my handle here is my spout...tip me over and pour me out) and says I'm a teapot.
So its worth it to own for me. I get real into films. But I want better resolution on my artwork photos. and more camera fun... so I am upgrading all the iPhone cases I have to iPhone 15. I can do ten a day. technical reasons... i.e. by the time I explained it to you...
anyhoo.
That's what I'm working on all month. I am also working on a second project. I am getting all my cleaned up sellable travel slides on THIS site as digital image downloads... in case you want to print your own postcards, or just thumb through them. I have a gallery available, but you can only share them. The digital image downloads can be used on your phone or laptop as wallpapers, customize personal print projects. Or just be inspired by a 1960's 35mm camera and compare to the new iPhones. Both have their finer points. I love FILM. I prefer digital. less caustic to develop. Safer. And it doesn't have a disintegration problem. I also prefer acrylics to oils nowadays for the safety of solvents.
I think the world has taken care of some pretty well, others not so much.. I can't say how complicated it is to think globally in a small town, but as a shop owner in POD, and as a woman O' the world... I rejoice in the fact that Print on demand is a sustainably made industry. No warehouses full of overstock. Its a series of digital handshakes taking a piece of art to a printer and shipping it to a buyer. I have to anticipate this, as an artist. This is my audience.
So fare thee well, till november when I begin to work on the Christmas dressing gown for my store front. I think she fancied up nicely for fall. I LOVE WYSWYG web design. it has allowed me to spend time.. making art and running a bussiness. O thank god i didn't finish that grad school. world up and changed.
